The estate winery is located in a typical village of the Burgenland region. The 12 x 120 m piece of land houses an L-shaped housing, production and warehouse complex. The new building is at the center of the property, where the ground floor is used as a barrel room and tasting area, and the upstairs as offices and and guest rooms. The upper floor is linked to an east and west terrace, which allows for a smooth transition between inside and outside space. The roof is fully accessible and provides a 360 degree view of the wine region. The ground floor plan is that of a rectangle, and the upper floor of a parallelogram. The two basic forms are connected by diagonals and placed in a flowing shape. This creates a variety of rooms, views and topography, relating to the sun, the patio and the region’s environment. The remaining areas of the parallelogram create the east and west terrace, which is used for events. The interior can be closed or shared.
