As part of the new building of the LKH Klagenfurt, the existing buildings east of the new surgery building integrates and maintains both new and old uses. Two floors are to be reorganized and rebuilt. These include the plastic surgery, eye surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery departments with their associated treatment and examination rooms, administrative areas, emergency services and medical technology areas. The existing wards remain in the above six floors untouched. Access is via a walkway to the new Surgical Medical Center (CMZ). The building is connected in the basement to the new logistics network and the automated transport system. Since the premises are being used for people with visual disabilities, special attention has been paid to the guidance and control system, and the lighting design.
